Hello, I’m Meg Barber.

I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Yoga Teacher based in Geelong (Djilang) and the Surf Coast.
I have several years experience providing psychological therapy for complex trauma, persistent pain and somatic complaints including fatigue and gut issues, in both public and private sectors. I have advanced training in EMDR and am an accredited practitioner with the EMDR Association of Australia. I creatively integrate EMDR therapy with parts-work, somatic and mind-body techniques I am trained in.
I have been teaching weekly Jivamukti Yoga classes for several years, and have additional certifications in Trauma Sensitive Yoga and iRest Yoga Nidra (Level 2). I have also published peer reviewed research on iRest Yoga Nidra for Pain.
I provide psychological therapy and clinical supervision on Fridays and teach public Jivamukti Yoga classes on Saturday mornings at Yoga Farm in Mount Duneed.

Psychological Therapy

My passion is working with adults experiencing trauma and persistent pain. My extensive experience providing trauma therapy, and including the body in the therapy room using the various somatic and mind-body approaches I have trained in, can be helpful in reprocessing traumatic memories, persistent pain and restoring your sense of self.

Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the sacred land on which I walk, the Wadawurrung People of the Kulin Nation.

I wish to extend this acknowledgment and recognition of the vast countries and cultures throughout this continent. I humbly acknowledge the Traditional Custodians' spiritual connections to land, sea and sky.

I acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded and that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to be re-traumatised by the pervasive impacts of colonisation today. Yet the survival of the oldest living culture on Earth, more than 65,000 years, is a testament to resilience and spirit.

I recognise our collective need for truth telling and deep listening. I honour the Uluṟu Statement of the Heart.

I pay my respects to their ancestors, elders both past and present, as well as the future generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples; our hope for tomorrow.
